The entire social and business life have got badly affected due to the catastrophic cyclone appeared recently in two Indian states i.e. Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Thus, keeping in view the ease of taxpayers of both these states the government of India has extended the different due dates for various GST Returns.
As per the announcement made by the Dept. of GST (Govt. of India) –
The previous due date for GSTR-3B (for the month of September and October 2018) for such taxpayers whose principal place of business is located in the district of Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh) has been extended till 30th November 2018.
Taxpayers of both states whose annual turnover is more than ₹ 1.5 crores can now file their GSTR-1 (for the month of September and October 2018) easily till 30th November 2018.
While those taxpayers whose annual turnover is less than/up to ₹ 1.5 crores can now file their Quarterly GST Return (for the months of July, August, and September 2018) easily till 30th November 2018.
The Government further clarified that those taxpayers whose principal place of business is located in any of the 11 specified (cyclone affected) districts of Tamil Nadu can now file their GSTR-3B and GSTR-1 easily till 20th December 2018.
As per this announcement, taxpayers whose principal place of business is located especially in the district of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh can now file their Quarterly Returns (i.e. GSTR-4) for the months of July, August and September 2018 easily till 30th November 2018.
Thus, it must be acknowledged that the Govt. takes good care of its taxpayers. And when new due dates for different GST Returns has already been announced, there is no question of penalties or late fine.
